Warming Center Open

Dear Resident,

With expected inclement weather on the way for this coming weekend, the Village of Hillside would like to remind you that the Village Hall will be open 24 hours a day as a warming center should you lose electric service. We also ask that you check on your neighbors, especially those that are elderly, to make sure they are safe during this event. Please limit your time outside and make sure to layer up should you need to venture out. If you need to drive while it continues to snow, please take your time and be patient. Roads may become slick despite efforts of the Public Works Department to clear local roads due to the expected high winds and extreme cold.

The Fire Department would like to remind you that stove tops and ovens should not be used to heat any space. If space heaters are being used, please make sure they are not left unattended and that they are in the open and away from any flammable material such as blankets and paper.

Finally, for those residents who have Friday waste removal, our refuse contractor is expected to remove refuse and recycling on your regular scheduled day weather permitting. However, if weather prevents removal on Friday, they will be out on Saturday to remove. We will keep you informed of this change if it occurs.
